Without really knowing the subject, I’d say a guitar tuner only does the 6 notes needed to tune a guitar. A chromatic tuner probably has the entire 12 note chromatic scale.

So, I want to buy my boyfriend a new guitar tuner for christmas, but I know NOTHING about them. I don’t want a cheap one, but I don’t want to spend too much money for it. My price limit is probably around $50. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks =]

Boss pedal tuners are sweet but they run for about $100, but I just found this Fender pedal tuner for $45. The reviews make that Fender one seem pretty legit.

I have a Nokia X2 and i heard my friend has a guitar tuner on his mobile but i haven’t found any good free mobile tuner that works. Is there any good one and will it work for my phone?

With your phone version i have no idea. If it were an android or iphone i could easily help you. I dont think people really develop those kind of apps for that.

I have a fender guitar with a built in guitar tuner, it a Fishman Lsyst and the owner manual dose not say what the button are for or what they do.

Those aren’t for the tuner, they are to shape the tone (EQ) of the guitar.
Contour changes the mid-range EQ scoop.

If you watch the auctions, you sometimes can pick up one even cheaper. If you are in a hurry to get it, then there are buy it own listings at a reasonable price. Look around some on eBay for others.
