Your Questions About Electric Guitar Tuner

Daniel asks…

What is a electric guitar tuner that can tune my guitar in differnt tunings like drop d,half step ect.?

i saw something called boss tu-80 can that do the job?

admin answers:

The boss tu-80 is really good, my friend who plays both guitar and base has one and it works for both stringed instruments. I think the boss tu-80 consts about 30 bucks and its a good tool to have.

A cheaper alternative is also the “Korg CA30 Chromatic Tuner”

http://www.zzounds.com/item–KORCA30

however it can be a little confusing how to use at first and you have to learn your sharps and flats and how they relate to the tunings you want.

For the meantime, and easy solution you can use is pitch references. Look up

they have a lot of useful tunings. You can choose whatever tuning you like then you just match the your strings with what they have.

Mary asks…

would a electric guitar tuner work on a bass?

i have an electric guitar tuner but i recently bought a bass guitar

i was wondering if it would work just the same
and if i would what are the string names and is there any specific way to do it

admin answers:

It should without any problem if it is a chromatic tuner. I have used a guitar tuner in the past without any problems. The first string on the top looking down the thickest one is E then A Then D Then G. Some Tuners have a setting for a bass guitar. What is the model and make of the tuner i can help you better with this information and give you a definitive answer. I use a Boss Chromatic pedal tuner tu-2 for Guitar and Bass it is the best tuner i have ever used if you are serious about playing these are great especially if you use alternate tunings and low tuning Like C Standard. They are 99.00 online and worth every penny!

Hope This Helps!

William asks…

Tunig with electric guitar tuner?

How do I tune my guitar with an electric tuner? I have a squier fender electric tuner. Does the cable go in the “in” hole or the “out hole”?

admin answers:

Put that jack in the in hole, the out hole is used in case you want to hook it up to a special effects pedal/amp while tuning and not wanting to take the tuner on and off etc.
You want to tune starting with the smalist string upwards like so:
E,B,G,D,A,E

if it stats getting to high… Youll know and then go backwards untill you get the right note because there are differnt levels of each letter note

John asks…

Electric guitar tuner?

I was wondering if you buy a guitar tuner, well how exactly does it work?
like if you wanted it in drop B, would it tell you?
sorry if this is a dumb question, i just havnt used one before

admin answers:

Hi Ashley

A guitar tuner will detect a drop B. Most tuners give you a choice of high, medium ,low range but generally, it will detect it for sure.
